French large black marble 8 day time and strike mantel clock, visible escapement, dial signed "Liddles, Middlesboro", c1890
CONDITION:
this large fancy case has detailed gold incising and green marble inlay and columns, but has vertical cracks down two of the front panels and there are other small chips. The inner disk of the porcelain dial has a hairline and is missing a grommet on a chipped winding hole, the beveled glass is fine. The square movement is unsigned, and one movement retaining strap is severed so the works are loose in the case. Very heavy and fragile for shipping. Ht 23"
